Every City Break in a Box includes immersive activities, recipe cards, luxury products from the destination, travel tips, virtual tours, bite-sized language lessons and so much more.
How many people can use a box?
The sky’s the limit! (or, well, six people if you’re in the UK and observing official guidelines). The physical products generally serve 1 - 2 people. However, the activities and digital library components are equally suitable for larger groups or families.
Some of our guests have really made the boxes their own, putting the virtual city tour up on a larger screen for more family members to take part in, whilst others have video-called friends to practice their language skills! We would suggest 4 - 6 people as an ideal maximum.
Can I use a box on my own?
YES. I’ve been a solo traveller for years & it’s never ceased to amaze me how most things are still geared towards couples. You’ll have a great time by yourself and hey… more tasty treats for you, right?
What’s the target age range for a box?
There is no upper age limit. Our customers range from their early twenties, through to their seventies. What matters is that you feel comfortable using simple technology (the boxes require an internet connection and a familiarity with clicking through links), and come with an open mind & heart to learn about new places.
Some boxes contain alcohol, so please be aware of the laws of your country.
For families, we recommend our Family Adventure range. These are aimed at children aged 6 - 10 (give or take a year or two either side) and are designed to be a whole-family activity, much like a board game.
What will I need?
You will need: An internet connection; A laptop/personal computer; Ingredients for anything you’d like to cook (full recipes & ingredients are detailed); A sense of fun & your imagination
How do you use a box?
The choice is entirely yours. You can use them as date nights, fun nights in, birthday gifts, Christmas presents, pre-travel inspiration, self-care treats, planning for your next adventure, recreating a special trip or memory… even proposals or family fun days.
Each box contains a suggested travel “itinerary” recommending a sequence to layer up your experiences and create a wonderful weekend “away” or epic night in. Your physical products are designed to transport you to the destination, whether through scents or flavours, whilst the activities bring the playful element, designed to introduce you to things you never knew, and inspire some future adventures in the process...
Can I send it as a gift?
Yes! In fact, this is how they’re most popular. You can leave a personalised message by filling out the form when you click “add to cart/buy now”, which we will place into your box for your recipient.
You can specify a particular shipping address, so that we can send it directly to your friend or family member. We will be introducing a gift wrap option soon - so keep your eyes peeled!
